Where is my Goodman Air Conditioner filter?
I have a Goodman Air Conditioner – CAPF036B2C. It’s running but no air is coming through the vents. I planned on changing the filter as my first troubleshooting step. Can anyone tell me where the filter is located? Or any other suggestions to what might be the problem?
find the largest grill in the home it should be in there…..if not then look at the bottom section of the unit where it is connected to the large duct work..it may be slid in there

i would appreciate this so much if someone could help me.
Goodman could probably answer your question if you contact them. I’ve provided the link below.
Parts and subassemblies might have date codes that can give you some idea. Those are usually in the format of YYWW. For example 9312 would be the 12th week of 1993.

Out to buy a central air conditioner for my home…best brands??
We are looking to replace out 30yr old central air conditioner. We live in a 2 story house, about 2400 sq ft. We are going for a 4 ton system. I have been quoted TRane and Goodman. What the the best brands for the money..???
Any of the nationally-advertised brands are fine. You’ll discover that the high-efficiency variety they have now require a good deal more space for the outside unit and also (I think) for the evaporator that goes on the furnace. That’s what makes them high-efficiency.
Find a reliable outfit and let them order everything for you. The brand isn’t important: the firm that installs it, is.
Which Central Air Conditioner should I go with? Is the 16 Seer worth the extra $1800?
Which Central Air Conditioner should I go with?
4 Ton Goodman 16 Seer $5100.00
4 Ton Goodman 13 Seer $3300.00
4 Ton Trane Unit 13 Seer $3600.00
Is the 16 Seer worth the extra $1800?
Yes it absolutely is. Definitely do it. you will not regret it!!!

How much does a contractor pay for a 3 ton Air Conditioner in Dallas?
Any idea how much a contractor in Dallas, Texas pays for a 3 Ton Goodman 13 SEER Air Conditioner?
You have to take into consideration what the contractor pays. He has to pay the employees, gas, insurance, taxes, equipment and I can go on and on.Things cost money these days.
The contractor also deals with the multiple price increases from the manufacturers. Plus with the new 13 seer minimum, didn’t help. There is a lot that goes into it. Try walking in our shoes for a while. This is more into response to the first answer you received.
To answer your questions, it depends on the contractor and the pricing they were given from there rep at Goodman.
I would quote you $ 2,165.00 to install a 3 ton, 13 seer Goodman Condensing Unit and $ 1,175.00 to install the Evap Coil. This covers parts and Labor.
I need suggestion on Air conditioner system. Can someone tell me more about Trane XB13 and Goodman GCS13?
Please give a good suggestion what should I get for my air conditioner system. Trane XB13 and Goodman GCS13 are both 2.5 tons
Don’t get anything with the old refrigerant (R-22 — like in the Trane) that is being phased out due to environmental problems — get the new stuff (R-410). I’m not saying that because of the environment (though that’s a good reason), but because it will be in very short supply later when your equipment will need servicing. I had that happen with my car’s A/C (before I sold it) and it cost a lot of $$ to get it recharged because the old refrigerant cost so much (and they know they can stick it to you).
Also, I saw a consumer article that noted that the R-410 versions are more reliable because it needs higher pressure. Apparently, that eliminates several ways that the mfg’s used to cheap out on and ends up giving you a better A/C in the long run.
So, it’s worth it to pay a little more now for the R-410 than pay a lot later for the R-22. (I got a Bryant 2.5 ton with the R-410 in 2000 and it works great).
I have Goodman heat pump and air conditioner model# ar24-1. What kind of programmable thermostat to used?
look around -they are all good. prices may vary, though.
I just got a goodman air conditioner heat pump put into my house less than a year ago.?
The AC worked for a little while but now I am warm in my own house and the AC runs all day long. The thermostat is on 75 and my house is 82 degrees. What can I do? What could it be? I called a Goodman technician and he said the AC is working properly. That can’t be true since the AC doesn’t go above 81 during the day. Any suggestions of what could it be so I when I call the guy again I can give him a clear picture of my problem. Any suggestions?
Try call another company. explain to them th situation and explain to them that you expect a complete work up on the HVAC.
They might be able to find out what is wrong.
Frequently HVAC is install or rather HACKED into a house. Proper duct , proper installation is not done . so the life and performance is severely reduced.
Goodman is like a good vanilla ice-cream. it is not ben and jerry but it is still a good generic vanilla ice cream.
but installed improperly . the life of it will be severely reduced.
You should also join HVACTALK. this is a NON DIY site manned by HVAC Professional . they can guide you thru the proper hvac installation. and what to look for in hvac contractor.
I suspect your HVAC person don’t really have the knowledge or the work ethic to properly serve you.
Goodman Air Conditioner: Make a Noise
I have two (2) AC Units located at my residency. I purchased a new capacitor. The old one was 370 VAC 5uf / 45 uf. The store where I purchased the new capacitor stated to me that the 440 capacitor wouldn’t hurt my unit. It’s a 440 VAC 5uf / 45 uf. AC # 2 had the bad capacitor and I installed the new 440 VAC capacitor. It wouldn’t turn on. I then took out the capacitor from AC # 1 and installed it in AC # 2. Now AC # 2 runs great. I then installed the 440 VAC capacitor in AC # 1. It ran for one (1) day and then turned off. I then installed a new fan motor in AC # 1. AC # 1 turned on and off for about ten (10) minutes. Now all it does is make a buzzing sound. Please help me with this problem. Thank You,
Well first you have to ask yourself why do the capacitor fail, low line voltage, hard starting compressor. From what you say it sounds like a power supply problem, outside disconnect box or the breakers or fuses in the home. You need a volt meter and amp probe.
